Anodized Aluminum Finishes with a Natural Metallic Character.

Eloxal surfaces live from their metallic depth. Alloy, pretreatment, gloss and angle of view influence the effect – therefore an object-specific reference pattern is particularly important.

Both processes protect and design aluminum, but produce their effect in completely different ways.

A coloured powder is applied to the pretreated profile and baked. The covering coating hides the metallic substrate.

Coast and salt pollution

Why Pre-Anodizing Protects Aluminum Near the Coast.

Salt-containing air deposits chlorides on profiles, joints and edges. Together with moisture, powder-coated components increase the risk of corrosion migrating under the coating – so-called filiform corrosion.

During pre-anodization, a thin, controlled oxide layer is produced before powder coating. This additional pretreatment improves the corrosion reserve and significantly reduces the risk of filiform corrosion.

Our planning recommendationIn coastal areas, high salt concentration, swimming pools or road salts, clarify the exposure class early and specify a quality-assured pretreatment according to QUALICOAT SEASIDE or PRE-OX project-specific.
